Dosage Soma does not act directly on the muscles but act on nerve endings. The medication is appropriate for recurrent acute pain and discomfort, rather than for continuous treatment of chronic musculoskeletal conditions. ADULTS CHILDREN Due to potential for tolerance, dependence, and withdrawal it is not safe to take Soma with no prescription. Development of moderate physical and psychological dependence can occur with chronic use. Abrupt discontinuation can be followed by mild withdrawal symptoms, that occur within 12-48 hours following cessation of use, and can last for further 12-48 hours.
