- Balanced mood - natural sources of omega-3 (especially
fish oil) may help bring mood into balance. Omega-3 seems to be
critical to the growth and maintenance of brain cells, especially
cell membranes. Omega-3 looks like a promising way to treat depression
and bipolar disorder.

- Healthy heart and circulatory system. There is evidence
from multiple studies that intake of dietary fish or fish oil
supplements lowers triglycerides, reduces the risk of death, heart
attack, dangerous abnormal heart rhythms, and strokes in people
with known cardiovascular disease, slows the buildup of atherosclerotic
plaques ("hardening of the arteries"), and lowers blood pressure
slightly.
